Thailand Plan to Implement 16K Pieces LED Bulb Lights Replacement

Recently in order to save 50% to 70% electricity power annually, Thailand Power Authority, Ministry of National Road, Ministry of Country Road and Promote Administrative Management Agency extend the retrofit plan of adopting LED bulbs to replace the HPS and Fluorescent in roadway and public area lighting.

As director of National Power Authority Naron indicated 4 departments would work together for the most appropriate scheme of bulb lights promoted and replaced, and individual enterprise would be invited in plan. Now the price of bulb light is kind expensive and it takes around THB 20K/pc. So the electricity cost saving can be as a profit of individual enterprise income.

Further more, the lights emitted from LED bulb light would be more intensive and it can promote visual sense more clearly. Thereby it can increase the safety of driving and decrease the crime case. Besides the period of use for LED bulb light is 5times compared to conventional bulb light. Each bulb light can lighten 50K hrs, or 10years. If the total 1Billion pieces LED lights can be used for replacement, it can reduce 4.5Billion KWH electricity power every year, that is equivalent to 1/3 total electricity generated by power station of Nagorno-Karabakh forests of Kanchanaburi poetry reservoir.

At present National Power Authority was responsible to arrange and sold electricity power to 74 states of Thailand, and was also responsible to power supply of roadway and public area lighting. The LED bulb lights would applied by National Power Authority belongs to environment friendly bulb lights, it can save 50% to 70% electricity power compared to conventional bulb light.
